16 Bridges

 

The 290-km Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail link (USBRL) Project is being constructed by Indian Railways in Jammu & Kashmir.

As a part of this project, KRCL has awarded the work for constructing 16 Bridges - Nos. 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 53, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 85, 87 and 88 along the Katra-Dharam section to Afcons.

The project is divided into 4 groups:

GROUP A (Bridges B34, B38, B39 & B40) at Katra to Reasi
GROUP B (Bridges B41, B42 & B43) at Bakkal
GROUP C (Bridges B53, B55, B56, B57, B58 & B59) at Kauri to Dugga
GROUP D (Bridges B85, B87 & B88) at Sangaldan

Total length of the bridges: 2.3 km

No. of piers and abudments: 58

Tallest pier: 90.5m (P5 of Bridge 39). This is the tallest tapered rectangular hollow railway pier in India using slipform technique

Longest bridge: 777m (Bridge 43)

Structural Steel used: 24,000MT

Concrete used: 1,36,000cum

Total height of Pier constructed using SLIPFORM technology: 1,222 meters
