Mr Shapoor Pallonji Mistry is the Chairman of Shapoorji Pallonji group, a 153-year-old diversified business conglomerate with business interests in Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Water, Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy. The group has a presence in more than 40 countries. Mr Shapoor Mistry holds a degree in Business Administration and Economics from the Richmond College, London.

The flagship company of the group, Shapoorji Pallonji Engineering & Construction which specialises in Construction, Design & Build and EPC is the name behind some of the most iconic buildings and structures that dot the architectural and industrial landscape of India as well as several overseas countries.

Mr. Shapoor Mistry spearheaded the group’s re-entry into the Real Estate business in 1992 and, in just over a decade, has transformed it into a multi-city, diversified asset class business with over 100 million square feet of developable real estate space. It includes the Imperial Tower, which is the tallest premium residential property developed by the Real Estate business and has won a record several awards at prestigious Asia Pacific Property Awards. The Real Estate business has entered into JV’s with several prestigious groups such as the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), International Finance Corporation (IFC), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and HDFC amongst others.

With an eye on the emerging technological trends and a vision of transforming the Shapoorji Pallonji Group into a diversified conglomerate, the group took over Afcons Infrastructure Ltd in 2000. Afcons is the infrastructure arm of the group and has executed some of the most challenging projects in Marine, Rail, Oil & Gas, Surface Transport and Hydro & Underground.

Mr Shapoor Mistry was actively involved in the takeover of the Forbes-Gokak business in 2001. As Chairman of Forbes & CL and Eureka Forbes, he has helped the group scale new heights in consumer water treatment, home cleaning, security systems, shipping and logistics and bank transaction management verticals.

Recently, under the leadership of Mr Shapoor Mistry, the group diversified into Oil & Gas services by entering into a joint venture with Bumi Armada. The JV now owns and operates two FPSO’s which are located in the D1 and C7 blocks, offshore India.

Mr Shapoor Mistry is a noted philanthropist and has been associated with a number of charities concerning health care (Trustee of the Masina Hospital, Dadysett Charity Trust and Maneckjee Cowasjee Petit Charities trusts) and education (member of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards World Fellowship, U.K).

Mr K Subramanian has been leading Afcons Infrastructure Ltd for over 19 years, in his current role as Executive Vice Chairman and in his earlier role as Managing Director. Under his leadership, the company did a turnaround and moved on to carve a niche of delivering the most complex and challenging infrastructure projects ahead of schedule, and with the top line of the company growing by over 20% CAGR in the last decade.

He has 37 years of experience in the infrastructure sector spanning functions such as contracts, operations and strategy. He is the sole representative of India in the Dispute Review Board Foundation, USA, which promotes alternate dispute resolutions throughout the world. He spearheads the effort of industry association in standardizing, among others, contract conditions and documentation, in close co-ordination with the PMO and central and state ministries.

Mr S Paramasivan is the Managing Director of Afcons Infrastructure Limited.

He has the P&L responsibility for the Company and all its Subsidiaries/Associates of Afcons Infrastructure. He is associated with the Company since 2002 and is the Whole Time Director on the Board of the Company since then.

He has a rich experience of over 35 years spanning across segments like Banking and Finance, Commercial and Administration and Business Development apart from Operations.

He was a member of Banking & Finance Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was in its core group. He is currently a member of Taxation Committee of CII and a Member of Infrastructure Committee of FICCI & CII.
 
 

Giridhar Rajagopalan - Afcons Board of Directors

Mr Giridhar Rajagopalan, graduated in Civil Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Mumbai in 1979.  Since then he has had a rich experience of 40 years with companies like Afcons Infrastructure Ltd, Peninsula Land Ltd (Ashok Piramal Group Enterprise) and V Karma Capital (owned by DLF) in leadership positions.

At Afcons, Mr Giridhar heads various core service departments such as Design, Quality, Safety, Technical Training and Knowledge Management, apart from handling several technically-challenging projects. In his role, he advises the business verticals on cutting-edge construction methods and technology and is part of the CMEG (Core Method and Engineering Group) formed to foster continual improvement on projects.

He has also contributed to various strategic planning and change initiatives being implemented in the organisation, and is playing an important role in transformation of the organisation to a champion EPC player. Under his guidance, a comprehensive GTE training programme (CLIMB UP) and development of Domain Experts has been initiated. He is also a member of the Board of Institute of Lean Construction Excellence (ILCE) and has successfully led lean construction implementation in several projects over the years.

Under his stewardship, Afcons became the first Indian Infrastructure company to win the prestigious Global, Asia Pacific and India MAKE Award (IOU category) in 2016 as well as 2017. Afcons has been named a winner of the MIKE Award in 2018, its inaugural year, at the Global, Asia, and India levels.

Mr David Rasquinha, was the Managing Director of the Export-Import Bank of India. Prior to this, he was the Deputy Managing Director of the Bank, holding business responsibility for the Bank’s Lines of Credit, Treasury & Accounts, Human Resources, Information Technology, Economic Research and Risk Management groups. David joined Exim Bank in 1985 and has had a wide ranging exposure to the broad fields of Export Credit, Structured Finance, Project Exports, Risk Management, Capital Markets, and Treasury. He was a member of an Exim Bank team that conducted a feasibility study for setting up an export credit agency for the Gulf Co- operation Council countries. He has been a member on several Working Groups set up by the Reserve Bank of India on issues of relevance to exports and export credit. From 1999 – 2004, he was the Resident Representative at the Bank’s Washington DC Representative Office, where he was instrumental in boosting Indian companies’ efforts to secure procurement business. He also spearheaded the formation of an export factoring joint venture with the International Finance Corporation.

Mr Rasquinha secured a first-class graduate degree in Economics from the Bombay University, followed by a post graduate qualification in Business Management from the XLRI, Jamshedpur where he was awarded the Gold Medal in Economics. He has lectured on various aspects of export financing at the National Institute of Bank Management, the Reserve Bank of India's Bankers Training College, the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute for Development Banking, as well as various bank training colleges, academic institutions and industry bodies in India and the USA. He is a member of the National Jury for the CII – Exim Award for Business Excellence, a Total Quality Management Award based on the TQM model of the European Foundation for Quality Management.

An excellent communicator, he has had articles published in Indian and overseas newspapers.

PRADIP NAROTAM KAPADIA - Afcons Board of Directors

Pradip Narotam Kapadia

Director

Pradip N Kapadia, an Indian national is a Director in Afcons board. He is an advocate and solicitor.

Mr Kapadia is an alumnus of University of Bombay from where he graduated with B.A. and LL.B degrees.  He qualified as an advocate in 1974 and subsequently as an attorney at law of the High Court of Judicature at Bombay in 1976.

Mr Kapadia is presently a senior partner in the law firm of Vigil Juris in Mumbai.  He is non-executive director in various listed and unlisted companies.  He is also a member of the Law Committee of IMC, Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mr. Pallon S Mistry is the Director of Shapoorji Pallonji And Company Pvt Limited (SPCPL), a diversified conglomerate with significant global presence in Engineering & Construction, Infrastructure, Real Estate, Water, Energy and Financial Services.

He holds a master’s degree in strategic management from Imperial College, London and has a penchant for new technologies.
 
He is focused towards building an agile organisation that aspires for sustainable growth. Pallon imbibes the family values of honesty, quality and hard work.

He believes that successful businesses are built on trust and collaboration. A balanced approach and strong business orientation empower him to provide valuable inputs to the boards across group companies.

Umesh N Khanna - Afcons Board of Directors

Mr Umesh Narain Khanna is Group Head - Coordination at the Shapoorji Pallonji Group Centre. He joined the SP Group in February 2012. In his role, Mr Khanna works closely with the promoters as well as Group Companies to drive SP Group-wide initiatives, facilitate forging synergy amongst SP Group Companies, provide expert inputs/ advise to the business heads on matters relating to technology, business development, market expansion, commercial and contracts management, strategic alliances and drive management of external stakeholders including network relationship with policy and decision makers at administrative and central government level.

Mr Khanna is an electrical engineer from Agra University and completed his Masters in System Engineering & Operations Research, from IIT Roorkee. He is also an MBA specialising in marketing from University of Hull, UK. Mr Khanna has over 30 years of experience in launching and expanding businesses & markets, business policy & planning and in International Marketing and Contracts Management for power and non-power industries.

He was with BHEL for 27 years starting as an Engineer and rising to the position of Regional Manager & AGM – International Operations based out of Jakarta, Indonesia. Prior to joining SP, he was CEO, Director on Board, Bharat Forge NTPC Energy Systems Ltd, a JV between NTPC Ltd and Bharat Forge Ltd.

Ms Roshen Minocher Nentin is a graduate from Podar College of Commerce and Economics and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

She joined the Shapoorji Pallonji Group in 1978 and held the position of Company Secretary of Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Ltd, the flagship company of the Group, now Shapoorji Pallonji And Company Pvt Ltd, for a period of 37 years (May 1978 to May 2015). 

At present she is Director on the Board of several companies of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
