Casting of 40 nos. caissons ( 9000 mm dia. )
Dredging work upto 150000 Cum.
( upto 21m below high water level )
 
  During construction of oil berth at Visakhapatnam, several novel methods of construction were adopted by AFCONS, such as
Construction of Concrete Caissons without use of any Dry dock.
Use diving bell to level the caisson bed, where workers worked in dry condition under 21 m of water.
Dredging the area from 10 m to 21 m below high water level useing dredgers manufactured by AFCONS.
This oil berth is a part of entire oil conveying in system to HPCL Refinery at Visakhapatnam, consisting of this berth, a submarine oil pipeline in the entrance channel, a trestle bridge to carry the pipeline up to land and 7.0 Kms of cross country pipeline over the land.
