AFCONS has entered the 50th year since its inception as Rodio Hazarat & Company in the year 1959. From very modest beginnings, when the Company was awarded its first job of pile foundations for Koyna Receiving Station, Trombay which had a very small job value of Rs.2,87,000/-, today AFCONS is a Company with an annual turnover of half a billion US dollars with many proud achievements to its credit.
Through the years AFCONS has evolved from a Foundation Engineering Company to a major contributor to the infrastructure development in India and abroad. AFCONS entered into marine segment in1966, into bridges and overseas foray in 1970, into roads in 1980, into LNG tank in 1990, into Hydro and Under Ground segments in 2002, into offshore construction in Oil & Gas in 2009. Thus in tune with the needs of the Industry, AFCONS has evolved with transformations from time to time.
The take over of the Company by the 140 years-old Shapoorji Pallonji Group in the year 2000 has provided a strong backing and support to the Company to make giant strides in procurement and execution of mega projects. This also helped the Company to sharpen its commercial acumen and provided the necessary financial muscle to think big.
Today we are operating internationally in various countries with more than 25% of our turnover achieved through our overseas operations. We have bagged many technically and logistically challenging jobs. The Chenab Bridge when completed will be an engineering marvel and will be the tallest rail bridge in the World. Our recent success in procuring the $ 366 Million Offshore process platform from ONGC and the $ 319 Million Rohtang Tunnel has propelled us into the big league of Construction Companies and we are confident of overcoming the challenges posed by these projects. We have been awarded certificate of merit as India’s most admired Construction Companies for the last three years in succession. The Company was also recently awarded the International World Quality Commitment Award 2009 at a convention held in Paris in September’09. Incidentally we are only the 5th Indian Company to be given this award. All these proud achievements are the result of the hard work put in by the entire team members of AFCONS.
We are now set to celebrate this major event of the Company entering its 50th year of operation. On this special occasion, we once again reaffirm our commitment to the Company’s Mission Statement of making AFCONS to be a Prominent Transnational Infrastructure Company providing “ ENHANCED VALUE CREATION” and TOTAL SATISFACTION” to all it’s Stakeholders.

AFCONS has tied up with reputed foreign companies to enable it to bid for large projects and also to enable it to enhance its technical skills and keep abreast with the latest design & technology.
